We have recently uploaded the full TCK Market Research video to YouTube. This piece was produced for The Center for Book Arts’ exhibition, With Food in Mind.

Curator, Nicole Caruth, writes:

“TCK Market Research muses on our ability to recognize product logos and packaging more readily than their chemical ingredients. Taking a teleprompter-like approach, Singer and Bardin asked people to simply read aloud the ingredients listed on packaged foods. As participants stammer and trip over words foreign to their tongues, the adage “If you can’t pronounce it, you probably shouldn’t eat it” comes to mind. TCK Market Research draws our attention to the gap between consuming name brand foods and actually knowing what we’re consuming. This iteration grew out of Singer’s ongoing project Read Me Files in conjunction with her project Undo!”
